[Release] Dispatch family represents their first female solo release

Kyrist's 'Venomous EP' is going to be released in the middle of January

It is no big secret that the DnB scene is mainly being driven by men. Certainly, this does not mean that there are no talanted female drum and bass artists out there. Quite the opposite. On a global level, there are many worthy of mentioning representatives of the fairer sex. One of the fastest progressing women on the scene lately is Bristol-based producer Kyrist. We are currently expecting her forthcoming solo 'Venomous EP' due to drop on Dispatch LTD in the middle of the month. With releases for the likes of  Proximity, Vandal, Dutty Audio and others behind her back, this is the Brit's debut on the label. On behalf of the whole Dispatch family (Dispatch Recordings and Dispatch LTD), in spite of their rich catalogue, this will be their first female solo release. Expect more from Kyrist this year, as she intends to stick around, signing on both of Ant TC1's labels.

The issue consists of four tracks and kicks-off with the self titled tune 'Venomous', consisting of very low frequency charge, complemented by tangible minimalist arrangement of the drum section. 'Find a Meaning' is a track that delivers what we refer to as the classical sound on Dispatch from the last couple of years. The tune also features MC Steo, who also happens to be from Bristol.  'Tectonicz' has an aggressive bass line and uneven leading drum section, augmented by digital sounds and atmospheric elements. The main part of 'No Remorse' begins after a long intro, rapidly developing as a higly-ordered Half-Step track.

The 'Venomous' EP can currently be pre-ordered from Dispatch's Store, but will officially come out as follows:

  • Dispatch Store: January 16ht
  • Worldwide: January 20th
